Information entered into a search form, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Southampton Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the content of the message and use it to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Our host may retain routine server-log data, including an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We review this in aggregate for site operation and page-use trends. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Limited data supports site operation, error correction, traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles from this information.
External Websites
Links may lead to Town, County, state, library, archive, or third-party search services. Their own privacy notices govern information submitted on their pages. The same applies to any sponsored search result supplied by an outside company.
Data Disclosures
Hosting and support providers may process server-log information for the site. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and otherwise do not share it except as described here.
Security Practices
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for the purposes described above. Because Southampton Residents Directory has no user accounts, it does not maintain a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent us information, and we will remove it.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, or deletion of data a website retains. The official New York sources reviewed for this project did not identify a comprehensive statewide general data-deletion right. We keep little information, so a request normally concerns the contact mailbox or server logs. Send a request through the Contact page. Records held by New York, Suffolk County, or Southampton custodians are outside our control and must be addressed to the custodian under the applicable rule, including New York Public Officers Law Article 6 where FOIL applies.
